Social enterprise, Tree Planet has stated on the 8th that, with Sean's cooperation, the Sewol Ho Forest of Memories will be completed by the first half this year. Tree planet official said that Sean wants to do something meaningful for the victims of Sewol Ho inspired by his mother Audrey Hepburn sent a proposal letter.

Sean is the first son between Audrey Hepburn and Mel Ferrer. He has worked in film marketing field and ever since his mother past away in 1993, he started to focus on running a foundation which his mother was involved in. Sean has lived in Korea for a year in 1979 to take part in the film making of a movie about the battle of Incheon "Oh! Incheon,"

The forest will be established on Baek Dong Hibiscus hill in Jeon-Nam Jin-Do County. Tree Planet and Sean will hold a press conference at the Seoul Press Center on the 9th of this month at 10a.m and present the forest establishment plans. [글로벌 코리아]헵번의 '세월호 기억의 숲'

세월호 사건 희생자를 추모하고 유족들을 위로하기 위한 '세월호 기억의 숲'이 진도 팽목항 인근에 조성된다. 조성사업의 제안자는 세기의 여배우 오드리 헵번의 아들인 션 헵번 페레어다.

사회적기업인 트리플래닛은 8일 션과 함께 올해 상반기 중으로 세월호 기억의 숲을 만들 계획이라고 밝혔다. 트리플래닛 관계자는 "션이 어머니의 뜻을 이어받아 희생당한 아이들을 위해 의미있는 일을 해주고 싶다"며 "희생자를 기억하기 위한 숲을 만드는 것을 제안하는 메일을 우리에게 먼저 보내왔다"고 말했다.

션은 오드리 헵번이 배우 멜 페러와 결혼해 낳은 첫 번째 아들이다. 그는 영화·마케팅 분야에서 일하다 어머니가 세상을 떠난 1993년 이후부터는 어머니와 관련된 재단 운영에 집중하고 있다. 션은 한국과는 1979년부터 1년 동안 머문 인연이 있다. 인천상륙작전을 소재로 한 영화 '오! 인천'의 제작을 위해서였다.



숲은 팽목항에서 4.16㎞ 떨어진 전남 진도군 백동 무궁화 동산에 조성될 계획이다. 트리플래닛과 션은 9일 오전 10시 서울 프레스센터에서 기자회견을 열어 숲 조성 계획을 공식 발표하고 국민의 참여를 호소할 계획이다. 10일에는 진도에서 착공식을 한다. 숲 조성을 위한 기금 모금은 홈페이지(sewolforest.org)를 통해 진행한다.
