Despite her continued problems with the law, Lindsay Lohan could still avoid spending any time in jail, experts tell People magazine. “This is far from a slam-dunk case,” defense attorney Steve Sitkoff tells the magazine of Lohan’s recent felony charge for stealing a $2,500 necklace. Sitkoff says all Lohan’s lawyer needs to do is “convince one juror it was an innocent misunderstanding, and she could walk.”

The divorce between Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz is completely understandable, according to People magazine. “It was honestly a classic case of marrying young, having a kid young and growing apart over the years,” a source tells the magazine. Simpson may also have felt overwhelmed by her parental duties and the effect it had on her career. “Ashlee was the one with Bronx a lot of the time, and that’s a lot,” the source says. “Ashlee loves being a mom, but she also loves being a performer and she wants to badly get back to that.”

Jake Gyllenhaal has sources speculating that he’s getting sweet on Oscar-nominated actress Carey Mulligan. Gyllenhaal reportedly took Mulligan all the way to Tennessee to see British band Mumford & Sons perform. After checking out the show, the pair then reportedly joined the band for dinner at Nashville’s City House restaurant.

A scuffle reportedly involving Jamie Foxx disrupted a performance by Usher at a crowed L.A. nightclub over the weekend, according to Radar Online. The Oscar-winning actor was reportedly having an argument with a former manager that turned physical and “spilled to the outside area,” a source says. “After some cops approached, both men seemed to make-up with one another before they left.” Foxx reportedly then left with a scowl on his face. “I don’t know what the guy said to Jamie Foxx, but he was really pissed,” the source says.

Elton John may have given Billy Joel some “tough love” in his recent Rolling Stone interview, suggesting Joel needs help addressing alcohol problem, but Joel isn’t mad at his British friend. “I’ve enjoyed our relationship too much to let something as random as these comments change my affection for him,” Joel says in a statement. He goes on to list his thoughts on the matter: “1. I do not hate Elton John. 2. I do not want to “punch him in the face.” 3. If he wants to call me, my number is still the same. 4. Good luck with the movie.”

Elizabeth Taylor has been hospitalized and is being treated at L.A.’s Cedars Sinai Medical Center after suffering symptoms from congestive heart failure, according to ABC News. “Her family and close friends are appreciative of the warm support and interest of her loyal fans but have asked that people respect her privacy and allow her medical team the time and space to focus on restoring her back to health,” her rep says in a statement. “The issue is being addressed. She is currently being kept in the hospital for monitoring.”
